We’ve been busy over the last few weeks here at Powderhook. We’re excited to announce several new updates on our website that make it even easier to find and create access to the outdoors. Here’s a rundown:
1. Invite and assign tickets to other people.
You can already search for thousands of events on Powderhook, and get tickets with just a few clicks. Now, when you get tickets to an event you can:
- Claim the ticket for yourself
- Invite someone to claim the ticket by email
- Enter the information for someone else, and give them the ticket
For example, if you’re going to buy a “table” at fundraising banquet that comes with 8 seats you can divvy up the table right on Powderhook. You can choose one or more of the seats for yourself, invite buddies to sit with you at the table, or directly enter the information of other attendees. All required information is collected through Powderhook, so you don’t have to provide it at the event. This should help save you some time.
Powderhook will send invite emails, tickets, and reminders on your behalf. Don’t have time to divvy up your ticket when you purchase it? No problem, you can always assign empty seats from the event on Powderhook.
2. Administrator of an event? Ticket reports are now smarter.
You don’t have time to wonder who’s coming to your event. Our ticket reports for event administrators are smart enough to give you the information you need. You can see what types of tickets have been sold, how much revenue you’ve generated, and a breakdown of everyone that’s attending.
Our reports will also show you open seats, seats that have an email invite pending, and seats that have been claimed. Ticket orders are grouped together, so you can see which seats belong to tickets that include more than one. You can also email an attendee their ticket with one click. Did we mention all reports can be downloaded as a spreadsheet?
3. Hosting an event? You can choose who pays the credit card fees.
When someone uses a credit card on Powderhook, we charge a small fee to process their credit card. For example, purchasing a ticket to an event, paying after someone has sent you a payment request, or joining a group or trip that has a cost.
By default, we add the credit card fee to the total cost and the purchaser covers the fee when they make their purchase. However, if you’re an administrator of an event, group or trip, you can now choose to “adsorb” the credit card fee so your purchasers don’t have to pay it!
When you withdraw your funds from Powderhook, we’ll simply deduct any credit cards. It’s as simple as that! Want to use this feature? Here’s how:
- Navigate to your event, group or trip on Powderhook
- Click on the “Payments” tab
- Toggle the “Credit Card Fees” switch to “Absorb”
4. It’s easier than ever to create something new.
You can now create a new event, group or trip right from the Powderhook homepage. Once you start, we’ll walk you through step-by-step. You can also click on the “+” icon in the header to create something new. It’s easier than ever! Jump on and give it a try.
